[Job opportunity] Finance Support Officer

ROLE OVERVIEW

VinUniversity is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced professional to provide financial support in a dynamic, fast-growing academic environment. This role is critical to ensuring efficient financial operations, including budget appraisal, budget monitoring, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
This position will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Budget Appraisal & Monitoring: Support the appraisal of research project budgets and monitor budget execution to track progress across research projects and research centers following VinUni’s regulations.
  • Financial Reporting & Record Keeping: Maintain sufficient, accurate, well-organized financial records to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations; Consolidate data and input to support reporting purposes.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial and accounting standards, tax regulations, internal policies and local laws; identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor‘s degree in Finance, Accounting, Project Management or relevant fields from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial support, with strong exposure to budget appraisal, budget monitoring, financial reporting, and compliance—preferably within academic or nonprofit programs/project
  • Experience in a higher education, N-G-O or Research Institutes setting is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experienced with budget appraisal and monitoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese and English
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and recommendations effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academics, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Rigorous and capable of high attention to details over an extended period.
  • Ability to deliver with precision, conscientiousness, and diligence.
  • Dedication to excellence and commitment to the highest ethical standards and transparency.

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experiences

Employment type: Part-time

Location: Onsite at VinUni campus

Divisions: Finance and Accounting Department
