About the Speaker:

Professor Stephen P. Boyd is the Samsung Professor of Engineering and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He is a leading authority in convex optimization and has made significant contributions to the field through his research, publications, and open-source software tools. Professor Boyd is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK), and a Fellow of several professional societies, including IEEE, SIAM, and INFORMS.
