Research Seminar by Prof. Alessio Del Bue on Assistive and Embodied AI
We are delighted to invite you to an engaging research seminar presented by Prof. Alessio Del Bue from Università degli Studi di Genova.
Details of the Event
- Speaker: Prof. Alessio Del Bue, Università degli Studi di Genova
- Topic: Assistive and Embodied AI Research at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT)
- Date: Thursday, December 12, 2024
- Time: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Location: I201, I Building, VinUniversity
Abstract
This seminar will introduce the mission and innovative research of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), focusing on the development of autonomous systems to support healthcare staff and patients. Prof. Alessio Del Bue will share insights into:
- Intelligent environments, such as smart rooms, designed for passive patient monitoring and frailty index computation to aid clinical decision-making.
- Robotic platforms, seamlessly integrated with these environments, leveraging cutting-edge AI techniques, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs) for adaptive and user-driven assistance.
- Research challenges in embedding autonomy and intelligence into robotics, including active vision for task-solving and self-learning for perception in unknown environments.
This session highlights the transformative potential of Embodied AI in redefining human-centered assistance in healthcare and beyond.
