Biography
Dr. McAuley completed his MD at East Tennessee State University and his MPH at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Following medical school, Ryan completed his residency training in the combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (“Med-Peds”) program at the University of Pennsylvania and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his time in residency, he participated in the Global Health Equities Track which allowed him the opportunity to travel to Botswana on three occasions with the Botswana-UPenn Partnership. His clinical interests focus on global health and vulnerable populations, specifically refugee health, disaster response, and medical education in developing settings. He was the Med-Peds Chief Resident for the 2015-2016 academic year for the UPenn/CHOP Med-Peds residency program. Dr. McAuley is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He spent the last 5 years in a variety of clinical roles including adult hospitalist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; physician and medical manager with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) in South Sudan and Egypt; and as a physician with the Indian Health Service at the Tuba City Regional Healthcare Center in Arizona. In his free time, Ryan enjoys traveling to exotic countries, exploring beautiful beaches, listening to classical music, and hiking in the great outdoors.
