Biography
Dr. Nguyen Thu Giang, also known as Dr. Giang Nguyen, earned her Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management (2024) and MSc in International Management (2018) from the University of the West of England (UWE), UK. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Japan in 2016.
Before joining VinUni, she worked as a Lecturer (2024-2025) and Associate Lecturer (2020-2023) at UWE’s College of Business and Law, and as a Lecturer (2020-2023) at UWE’s International College, teaching various modules including Operations and Supply Management, Service Operations, Strategic Management, Research Methods, and Project Management.
Her career reflects a strong commitment to enhancing students’ academic experiences and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. She was the President representing over 30,000 students and the Chair of the Board of Trustees and Executive Team of the Students’ Union at UWE (2018-2019) where she managed the CEO and led a team of 19 elected officers and external trustees to develop, execute, and monitor the organisation’s strategic vision, plans, and governance. She also championed and managed various impactful campaigns, events, and projects related to student education, liberation, and financial matters.
Additionally, she co-chaired the Partnership Board with Vice Chancellor to facilitate discussions with the University’s Directorates on student issues and long-term partnerships. She was also an active member of UWE’s Board of Governors and its sub-committees, such as the Finance and Estates Committee and the Strategic Planning and Performance Committee (2018-2019) where she worked closely with University Governors, Executives, and relevant stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategic plans aligned with the University’s vision and objectives. She also served on the Academic Board (2017-2019) and was the Business and Management Department Representative (2017-2018), working with academic stakeholders to maintain diligent oversight of academic governance and ensure compliance with established academic policies, guidelines, and standards.
Her current research focuses on Technology and Innovation Adoption, Digital Transformation, and Circular Economy within Supply Chain Management. During her academic journey, Dr. Giang has presented her research at numerous international conferences and has been awarded with several Best Paper awards, scholarships, and bursaries.
As a Lecturer in Operations Management within CBM, she is dedicated to work closely with colleagues and the university to enhance educational experiences, foster personal growth, and empower students to thrive
