{"id":375,"date":"2021-04-05T08:03:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T08:03:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vinuni.edu.vn\/research\/?p=375"},"modified":"2022-09-05T08:03:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T08:03:52","slug":"gene-expression-profiling-in-allopurinol-induced-severe-cutaneous-adverse-reactions-in-vietnamese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vinuni.edu.vn\/research\/gene-expression-profiling-in-allopurinol-induced-severe-cutaneous-adverse-reactions-in-vietnamese\/","title":{"rendered":"Gene Expression Profiling in Allopurinol-Induced Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions in Vietnamese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abstract<\/p>\n<p>To examine gene expression in different clinical phenotypes of allopurinol-induced severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs).\u00a0<b>Materials &amp; methods:<\/b>\u00a0Gene expression profiling was performed using microarray on 11 RNA samples (four controls, three\u00a0hypersensitivity syndrome\/drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms, four Stevens\u2013Johnson syndrome\/toxic epidermal necrolysis) followed by quantitative real-time PCR in a total of 11 SCARs patients and 11 controls.\u00a0<b>Results:<\/b>\u00a0The biological pathways which were significantly enriched in differentially expressed genes\u00a0in Stevens\u2013Johnson syndrome\/toxic epidermal necrolysis compared with hypersensitivity syndrome\/drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms patients included; cell surface interactions at the vascular wall, immunoregulatory interactions at the immunological synapse and MyD88 signaling pathways. Overexpression of miR146a occurred in allopurinol-tolerant\u00a0HLA-B*58:01\u00a0carriers.\u00a0<b>Conclusion:<\/b>\u00a0Biological pathways are identified which appear to be\u00a0implicated in determining clinical phenotypes in allopurinol-induced SCARs.
