The event brought together over 150 participants, including scientists, medical doctors, healthcare professionals, CEOs, technology engineers, and students from universities, hospitals, and research institutions to share the latest advancements in applying artificial intelligence (AI) in disease analysis, diagnosis, and treatment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"1293\">The workshop served as a collaborative platform connecting technology researchers and medical experts to explore innovative, effective, and feasible solutions for realizing smart healthcare in Vietnam. The scientific presentations highlighted numerous promising directions for interdisciplinary collaboration between fields such as engineering, computer science, clinical medicine, and public health.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1399\">A number of cutting-edge technologies and healthcare models were introduced during the event, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"2823\">\n<li data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1631\">\n<p data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1631\"><strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1425\">Prof. Do Ngoc Minh <\/strong>(Professor at UIUC &amp; VinUniversity) presented advancements in AI-powered real-time tumor detection during surgery and the development of 3D digital tumor models for drug testing and personalized treatment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1896\">\n<p data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1896\"><strong data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1656\">Dr. Pham Huy Hieu<\/strong> (College of Engineering and Computer Science, VinUniversity) introduced a novel approach for developing cost-effective, intelligent digital healthcare platforms with potential for large-scale deployment in low- and middle-income countries.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1898\" data-end=\"2084\">\n<p data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"2084\"><strong data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"1930\">Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phi Le<\/strong> (AI4LIFE Institute, HUST) discussed the capabilities and limitations of vision-language models (VLMs) in interpreting and analyzing medical imaging data.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2279\">\n<p data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2279\"><strong data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2116\">Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa Huyen<\/strong> (College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity) shared a digital platform designed to support post-surgical cancer patients in symptom monitoring and care management.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2281\" data-end=\"2457\">\n<p data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2457\"><strong data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2305\">Dr. Thai Mai Thanh<\/strong> (College of Engineering and Computer Science, VinUniversity) showcased research on the application of robotics technology in modern medical procedures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2459\" data-end=\"2650\">\n<p data-start=\"2461\" data-end=\"2650\"><strong data-start=\"2461\" data-end=\"2488\">Dr. Tran Phung Huy Nhat<\/strong> (AstraZeneca Innovation Hub) introduced remote healthcare (telehealth) solutions aimed at improving patient monitoring, early diagnosis, and preventive medicine.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2652\" data-end=\"2823\">\n<p data-start=\"2654\" data-end=\"2823\"><strong data-start=\"2654\" data-end=\"2673\">Dr. Do Thanh Ha<\/strong> (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology) presented new research on the application of foundation models for medical image segmentation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"3216\">The workshop attracted significant interest from the professional community, including clinicians, nurses, researchers, engineers, and students from medicine, pharmacy, IT, and engineering disciplines. Lively discussions throughout the event reflected a growing demand and urgent need for interdisciplinary collaboration in the context of Vietnam&#8217;s ongoing digital healthcare transformation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3218\" data-end=\"3607\">Through this event, VISHC (VinUni) and AI4LIFE (HUST) reaffirmed their commitment to advancing impactful applied research while serving as key connectors between academia, the healthcare sector, and technology enterprises.
