Rory Kennedy joins the College of Arts and Sciences as Academic English Lecturer having previously held an adjunct position within the department. Prior to his current appointment, he was an Educator in the School of English at RMIT University Vietnam (February 2019 – November 2020); held the position of English instructor for Nihon University, Japan (August 2018 – December 2018); and was an English faculty member at Bilgi University, Istanbul (September 2014 – July 2018).

He received the BA in Arts and Social Sciences from The University of Strathclyde in 2010 with majors in English Studies and Sociology. Currently in the final year of a Master of Education program at the University of Derby, he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 2020. He has worked in the field of English Language Teaching since 2011 and is a holder of both a CELTA certificate and a DELTA diploma from Cambridge Assessment English.

His current research interests include the learning theory Connectivism, applications of Instructional Design in ELT, and student engagement in online learning environments.
