He earned his PhD. with a dissertation on the “Structural Characterisation of Animal Adenovirus Fibre Heads” at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología (CNB-CSIC) in Madrid, Spain, and defended his thesis at the Institute of Biotechnology, VAST, in Hanoi. His research career began at the Institute of Biotechnology in Hanoi, and he gained experiences in enzyme molecular biology as a visiting researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. He further developed his scientific skills as a predoctoral and postdoctoral fellow at CNB-CSIC (Madrid, Spain), focusing on advanced molecular and structural biology. Upon returning to Vietnam, he has held positions as a researcher at the Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology (Vinmec Healthcare System), and molecular genetics specialist at Vinmec Hi-Tech Center. He is currently a medical specialist at the Vinmec-VinUni Research Institute of Immunology.

Dr. Thanh’s research interests focus on the structural biology of viruses, genetic diagnostics, and the application of genomics in personalized medicine. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications particularly on the structure and function of viral proteins and the development of molecular diagnostic tools. At Vinmec, he has contributed as principal investigator, co-investigator, and data analyst in multiple R&D projects, including the evaluation of genetic testing kits for cancer screening, cancer genomics, and genetic disease diagnosis.

Dr. Thanh holds a Pedagogical Certificate, supervises undergraduate and master’s students, and develops training materials and lectures for healthcare professionals at Vinmec.
