Biography

Prof Bui Van Giang studied and worked as a resident doctor in Hanoi Medical University from 1994 to 1997. Prof Giang studied for 2 years in France, then had many training sessions in Europe, America and other countries: Japan, Korea, Thailand…. In 2009, he obtained his PhD degree in radiology from Hanoi Medical University for the thesis on the topic of embolization to treat Carotid-Cavernous fistula. He was appointed as Associate Professor of HMU in 2018.

Prof Bui Van Giang is an expert in the field of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology with 30 years of experience. He is a pioneer in fields such as: Pain management by intervention (trigeminal neurolysis, vertebroplasty and injection in the treatment of spinal pain, pain in cancer and other chronic pains). Not only as an expert in MSK and Sports medicine diagnostic radiology, 6 years as chief of radiology department of the national cancer hospital made him expert in oncology. He has a lot of experience in the treatment of tumor pathology by minimal invasive methods (percutaneous tumor ablation, chemical embolization). Prof Bui Van Giang is the first doctor in Vietnam performing the technique of Neurolysis with alcohol injection to the Meckel’s cave under the DSA guidance and celiac plexus neurolysis to treat pain in the end stage of pancreas, liver, stomach cancer…
