National Defense Education

National Defense Education is a non-credit compulsory course required for higher education curriculum as directed by the Ministry of Education and Training, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This course aims to provide students with basic knowledge about the defense and security policy of the Communist Party and the State management of national defense and security, the nation’s tradition of fighting against foreign invaders, the strategy of “peaceful evolution”, rioting and subversion of forces hostile to the Vietnamese revolution. There are two essential parts that students are required to complete this course: The theoretical part (conducted at VinUni auditorium) and the Practical part (conducted at National Defense and Security Education Center, Thuy Loi University). In addition, the supplementary program, musical and guest speaker sessions with veterans in the evenings are organized to arouse patriotism, national pride, and teamwork skills.
