On 3 April, 2018, Vingroup Corporation officially signed a collaboration contract with two leading universities in the world: Cornell University and University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America. The collaborations reflect the long term commitment of Vingroup to create a truly world-class university in Vietnam that will be a breakthrough in higher education in Vietnam.
Cornell University: Is an elite Ivy League University (Ivy League refers to a group of eight elite colleges in the United States). Cornell ranks 14th in the 2019 edition of the QS World University Rankings. In particular, Cornell ranks 1st in hospitality management for four continuous years from 2015 to 2018, according to CEO World ranking. By the end of 2016, there have been 45 professors and students from Cornell who have received Nobel prizes.
VinUniversity will collaborate fully with Cornell University to set strategies, position brand identity, and build a system of university management.
Situated in the External Relations Division of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, the Cornell-VinUniversity will manage this relationship and its faculty members will lay the foundations to position VinUniversity as a world-class teaching and research university in accordance with QS 5-star rating standards. University of Pennsylvania: Founded in 1740, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) is a private university with its own medical school. In 2019, UPenn was ranked 19th in the world by the QS World University Rankings, 15th in medical education and 1st in nursing.
According to the U.S. News’ 2020 rankings, UPenn Health System is among the top 10 best hospitals in the United States, and its medical school was ranked 3rd in research.
With the best clinics in the United States, UPenn will support VinUniversity in recruiting and developing instructors’ quality, recruitment, and training and developing career paths for students in Health Science track. UPenn will work with VinUniversity and with the Vinmec Hospital system to build an education curriculum and training program for doctors, resident doctors, and nurses to meet the highest international standards.
